A Promise About Your Face, and Your Trust

Photography has always been an act of trust. You let me into your biggest days, your quiet in between moments, your family as it really is, and in return, I've always tried to give you something honest and beautiful.

That trust means more to me now than ever.

As AI technology evolves in ways none of us can fully predict, I've made a clear decision: I no longer use images containing clients' faces anywhere in my marketing, not on this website, not on Instagram, not in my portfolio, not anywhere I promote my business. I've also gone back through my existing platforms and removed every previously posted image that showed a recognizable face.

This isn't about hiding my work. It's about protecting yours.

Why This Matters

A Little Context on Why Now

You don't need to be a tech expert to understand why this matters, but here's the short version of what's changed:

• Faces can be scraped and used to train AI models, often without anyone's knowledge or consent, once an image is public.
• Facial recognition tools have gotten fast and accurate, making it easier for a stranger to identify someone from a single photo online.
• AI image generators can now recreate a person's likeness from just a handful of reference photos, which means a public photo can end up being the "training material" for images that person never took or approved.
• Deepfake and face swap technology no longer requires technical skill, so the barrier to misuse has dropped significantly in just the last couple of years.
• Once an image is public, it's essentially permanent. It can be saved, reused, or repurposed by anyone.

None of this means AI is something to fear. It means faces carry more weight online than they used to, and I'd rather be ahead of that shift than behind it.

What this means for you:

• Your face is never used to help me win new clients.
• You don't have to wonder how your images might be used, altered, or pulled into tools you never agreed to.
• You can be fully present during our sessions, knowing your image stays yours.

What this means for my portfolio:

You'll still see the full range of what I do: light, composition, candid emotion, movement, detail, just told through a lens that doesn't rely on faces to prove its worth.

I believe this is where photography is headed, and I'd rather lead that change than wait for it to be forced on me, or on you.

Some Q&A I have had regarding this policy change:

Does this mean you deleted my photos?

No. Your full gallery is still safe and delivered to you exactly as promised. I've only removed face images from my own public marketing, my website, Instagram, and portfolio. Your private gallery link is untouched.

Can I still see photos of my own face from our session?

Yes, always. You'll receive your complete gallery privately, just like before. This policy only changes what I post publicly to promote my business, not what I deliver to you.

Why did my post disappear from your Instagram or portfolio?

I went back through my past posts and removed any image showing a recognizable client face, including older galleries. It's not personal, and it's not a judgment on the photos. It's part of applying this policy consistently, going forward and backward.

Can I still tag myself or post my own photos publicly?

Absolutely. This policy only applies to what I do with your images. You're always free to share your own photos however you'd like.

Will you still photograph faces during sessions?

Yes, of course. Portraits, families, weddings, all of it, exactly as before. This policy is about how I market afterward, not how I shoot.

Is this a permanent policy?

For now, yes. I'll keep watching how AI technology develops, and I'll be transparent with you if anything ever changes.

Does this cost me anything extra?

No. There's no change to pricing or packages. This is simply a new standard for how I protect your privacy.
